My review of some of the best heat protection products around.
Being someone who has tried so hard in the past year to get their hair in good condition, I have tried A LOT OF products. I have tried the expensive to the high street, and this is my honest review of my favourites, and the ones I found disappointing.
First thing is first, let’s start with my ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE. Now this brand I can not stop raving about. I found them by fluke on TikTok, and I have never looked back since……
JVN HAIR - Recovery serum.
About JVN - JVN hair is a line of hair care products created by Jonathan Van Ness, a popular television personality and hair stylist known for his work on the show "Queer Eye."

My rating: 9/10. This stuff rocks. Its bought back such a shine to my hair, and the price is affordable. £25 for a tub!
About BB Heat protective primer - This product that is loved by so many is designed to protect the hair from heat damage and UV rays while also providing nourishment and hydration. The product contains a blend of lightweight polymers that help to shield the hair from the heat of styling tools and protect it from the damaging effects of the sun's rays.
My Rating 8.5/10 - I have to admit the the fact this product is lightweight, non-greasy and easy to apply does make it a great addition, I will also note that the primer has helped to reduce frizz, improve the overall appearance of my hair, and has made it easier to style. The only reason it hasn’t got a 10 is down to the fact i think its a bit pricey for what you get. (£27)
About Save the do Heat protection -It is a hair care product created by the renowned hairstylist, Sam McKnight. The product is infused with panthenol, which is a form of vitamin B5 that helps to strengthen the hair shaft and improve its elasticity. In addition to panthenol, this Spray also contains keratin, which is a protein that is naturally found in the hair. Keratin helps to strengthen the hair and reduce breakage, making it more resilient to heat damage.
My Rating: 7/10 Now being completely honest here, I got sent this for free from SPACK NK to try in exchange for a review. I had actually never heard of Sam Mcknight before. Nevertheless, I tried the product and even though it did protect my hair, and also smell quite good, it made my roots feel weighed down. I found my hair didn’t have that freshly washed look. However the price is reasonable for such a big bottle… £26
TRESemme Care & Protect Heat Defence Spray

My Rating 4/10 - I don’t know what it is about Tresemme, but we are not friends. No matter what product I use of theirs, I feel it always makes my hair look dirty, and doesn’t do what it claims on the package. Apart from the price being a great alternative for people who wouldn’t want to spend over £10 I cant think of one other benefit. I don’t like the smell, and my hair looked dull and dry after use. You can pick this up for £5.99 from Boots.
